Serena Eggers
Serena Eggers is an author and English teacher based in England. In her writing, Serena focuses on literary fantasy; she is interested in stories that use fantastical forms to convey human realities – in fairytales, and ghost stories, and myths.
In her day to day work, Serena teaches English at a secondary school. She earned an MSc in Learning and Teaching from the University of Oxford in 2024; her dissertation explored student connection to Lady Macbeth in GCSE English, looking at how (and why) students read the characters they are studying. Serena is originally from New York, and she completed her B.A. at Harvard College in 2017, with a concentration in Visual Art and a secondary in English. She earned a Thomas Temple Hoopes prize for her undergraduate thesis, a series of encaustic wax and oil paintings titled Mater Admirabilis, exploring embodied identity, family, and gender. Serena also worked as a staff member for four years with the Harvard Lampoon magazine, serving one year as Art Director.
In her own time, Serena enjoys cooking and baking, small shiny objects, and owls.
