R.M. Cress is a New York based author who grew up in the Wisconsin Midwest.

As a child, she wrote all kinds of stories and spent every second she should have been doing homework with her nose in a book. She has an Associates in English Literature and a Bachelors in Linguistics. She enjoys writing YA titles that explore the often fraught world of being a teenager, imbued with hope, friendship and love.

As a biracial butch lesbian, R’s stories dive into finding oneself while dealing with a world that is often unkind, and finding kindness within it.

Outside of writing, R enjoys horror movies, a wide range of book genres (LGBTQ+ and contemporary YA, speculative horror, fantasy written specifically by C. S. Pacat, any and every Jodi Piccoult book), and spending time with her wife.
